While watching the movie The Invention of Lying, I started to wonder myself what the world would be like if not one person could tell a lie. For those of you who haven't seen this movie, let me give you a brief synopsis. Mark, the main character in the movie, lives in a world where not one person can tell a lie, not even himself. However, one day, the worst day of this man's life, he goes to the bank and something clicks in his head. Bam! Out comes a lie. Hence, The Invention of Lying. All of the characters throughout the movie are bluntly honest with each other, with their feelings and with their views on life. That is what got me thinking about living in a life where everyone tells the truth, no matter what. No white lies, no backstabbing lies, just the.. truth. Now, to be honest with you, I don't think I would want to live in a world where everyone tells the truth. I, personally, do not feel that I would be able to handle that. Everyone telling you when your favorite dress is ugly, or your new hair color makes you look washed out, or *gasp* even telling you that your baby is ugly as sin. Although people would be more real with each other, there are still certain times when a little white lie is not a big deal.
But still, trying to fathom a world where everyone speaks their minds is quite interesting. Imagine being able to say what you absolutley feel to ANYBODY, and not get called a bitch for it. I mean, come on, everyone else does it, so therefore no one has ever called someone a bitch for that. My life would be so much easier, lol, no more getting called a bitch would be a trip.
Well, I don't really have much to say today, but I just felt like typing a little bit of what was on my mind. Maybe next time the post will be a little more interesting. Till then, goodbye.
